Shop 'til you drop...
I have been coveting this tray at JoAnn Fabrics for quite a few weeks..finally the price dropped to 50% off and I snatched it up..yeah, the price will go lower but I really want it and they may be all gone. I picked up the soundtrack from Forest Gump today..lots of good stuff, "talkin bout my generation". The pink flip flops...oh yeah, totally overpriced but damn I tried them on and they begged to come home with me...
They opened a HUGE Borders books at the Dayton mall and I found this sock knitting book. I was suprised how many books in their knitting section I either have, or have reviewed them via the library. There are some very cute socks in that book...and some that look a little complicated that I may decide to tackle.
I took along some mindless knitting..a washcloth to pass the time on the drive down and back. I knew that I was not going to be able to take all the parts and pieces along for the bitchin' mitten I am working on.
This is the status so far. I used a new knitting pattern, not sure if I like it or not...but it will work for a first stab at this. It may not be my final entry..and I have to remember what I did as I do the left handed mitten. I may get braver in my next attempt, but at least I won't be standin' at the bitchin' mitten door empty handed.
Great day..lots of fun...I found some great things for my favorite color swap secret pal..stuff I loved so much I bought a set for myself.
Today's question---after a trip to the bookstore I realize there have to be more books available online at Amazon. I've noticed lots of people with Amazon wish lists as part of their info for the Favorite Color Swap. What book are you waiting to come out to buy this fall?..there seem to be tons of new books coming out in the next few months.
This book title made me laugh tonight.
How was your day?
:o)

Love the mitten!
I'm so glad you had a good day. How do you knit and drive at the same time? I'm not brave enough to try that.
My day was weird, but so is my life, so I guess it's okay.

That sock book is great, I just got it a few weeks ago. It's got some great inspirational socks.
CUTE ducky mitten. Are you making the pair the same? I like the checkerboards, too.
I'm waiting for Michael's boook, Drew's, Shobhana, and some other from people I "know".

DUCK! It's a mitten!
Love the book, except it's too hot to knit. Then again, it's too hot for a lot of things.

Hate to admit it - but, I have no idea what books are coming out when...I never keep up and I don't know why.
Just ordered two books from a book club I belong to:
35 Cents: A Memoir by Matty Lee
Dispatches from the Edge: A Memoir of War, Disasters, and Survival by Anderson Cooper
The mittens are adorable...
