Yarn silly, what were you thinking? Would you look at that chocolate? I didn't get home until late so with the no eating after 7:30 rule I didn't eat any of the chocolate. If I wait until midnight will that count as a new day? Maybe I can have it for breakfast...I have a feeling it's not going to be around here for long.
We met at 3:00 at the local Borders bookstore. I was hanging out in the knitting book section..thinking in my mind that when KO walked up and said my name that I was going to look at her and say "No, that's not me." Instead that plan went out the window and I gave her a big hug right there in the bookstore in the knitting book section.
We made our way back to the bookstore cafe and after a few lessons from KO I ordered some sort of caramel iced tea drink that was actually quite good. I am not sure how it happened, but after what seemed like five minutes of talking, we had talked and laughed for three hours. I suggested dinner and convinced KO it was safe to get into the car with me. heh heh heh...silly newbie!
Now, the photo you have really been waiting for...Ann from the Cornfields meets Knitty Otter from the wild wild west. I respected KO's privacy and we opted to snap a photo of the pink socks and the kaleidoscope socks. They opted for drinks, KO and I just had water.
It was a blast from start to finish. I have already warned KO that I am going to head out west to meet up with her and Cookie.
I realized something on the way home tonight. I'm not shy anymore. My best buddy from Florida laughed tonight when I told her that. She said when were you ever shy? I thought that I wasn't shy online, but face-to-face and in real life Ithought I was. I used to be..sometime without me noticing I got over that and I am brazen as hell. I kinda like that.
:o)
Ann
Yay!
Isn't she fab?
I'm so glad ya'll had a good time and got your socks tipsy.

I'm so glad you two had a great time and that you were the designated driver for the socks. Sometimes socks just can't hold their liquor....

What a wonderful meeting of socks! ;)
I believe we outgrow shy somewhere past 30 or so.. maybe later for some. But I ALWAYS thought I was shy, introverted... my friends, they laugh in my face! :) (They have no idea that I have secretly imagined every worse possible scenario and when those scenarios never materialize the utter relief appears to be outgoingness! Perhaps it is the same with you, no?)
Don't think shy in Ireland! Be the first to wish everyone "Top of the Mornin'" because, by some decree or other (possible old royal! hehehe), they are required to respond "...and the rest of the day to you!" And you surely want to have the best wishes for the rest of each day!
'tis jealous, I am!

Oh it sounds like such a fun meeting! I bet those socks have tales to tell!

How dare you introduce underage socks to alcohol. You should be ashamed of yourself!!!
That said, it sounds like a fun day. I want to meet the Otter too!
No shy allowed in Ireland. After all, the Irish don't have any expectations of you so you can be who you want to be instead of who you are expected to be.

Sounds like you both had a great time meeting up...
I don't know that I would have ever thought of you as shy...
Me, I grew up in the South, no one is shy there! We even talk to people standing in the grocery line...

Wow sounds like you two had the best time ever. Okay what is wrong with the sock picture? I think the waiter got it wrong - you both deserved the drinky celebration and the socks needed the water. geeez, I should have been there to keep y'all straight.
Huggers!!!!!
